HOLLYWOOD, CA (Gosh!Radio) 10/14/2011 – “I’ve been in the music industry for over 15 years,” says singer-songwriter ABM who performs with Qwes Kross in Dat Body gyal. “My first performance was at an underground hip-hop nightclub where up and coming artist performed and battle each other.” ABM’s sound started as dancehall reggae and has evolved into a mix of the genre that’s distinctive to his sound. When listening to his newest release you’ll want to get up and dance.
ABM is the President and CEO of the record label Platinum Trini Entertainment, distributed through Ingrooves/Universal. His albums are available on iTunes.
“All of my material for my upcoming album was written, and co-produced be me,” says ABM. “I can write to a track or without a track. I prefer to write to tracks because the music influences the direction and mood of the lyrics being written. I’m ready to record when I hear a track that puts me in a certain mindset.”
ABM also writes and produces for music for other artists. “I believe that nothing is new under the sun,” says ABM. “We just improvise on what has already been done. I don’t categorize myself as being in a specific genre. I do world music that incorporate several genres of music.”
ABM is inspired by the work of Bob Marley. “There is a message in the music, be it political or feel good his lyrics make you think,” says ABM ABM lives in Los Angeles. He was born on the island of Trinidad.
ABM is appeared in concert live on November 26th at the Vanguard Nightclub One Love.
