HOLLYWOOD, CA (Gosh!Radio) 2011/6/23 – ”I’m an optimist even though I’m a realist,” says pop songwriter Robin Taylor. “My canvas is the people I watch.” Inspired by the human condition, Taylor enjoys simply observing others and using his imagination to tell their story through song.

Taylor’s dad was a composer, and at age eight, Taylor started playing piano and writing songs. One of his songs, You Shine, “paints a picture of a person trying to get through the reality of life,” says Taylor. “By fixating on positive energy, however, suddenly all of the character’s problems disappear and by the end of the song, there’s a carnival.”

Taylor refers to his fellow co-writers as his mentors. He emphasizes that it is through this collaborative interpretation that creates the art. “I still write about love and the things others sing about,” says Taylor. “I just have a different approach and perspective.”
